Obit from the The Dorrance Star, Dorrance, KS - Feb. 14, 1918

The news that Anna Galliart had been called to her home immortal Sat. came as a surprise to this whole community. Anna Galliart was born in Russell County, KS, near Dorrance on June 12, 1898, and died at the Wilson Hospital after a brief illness on Feb. 9, 1918, at the age of 19 years, 7 months and 27 days. (She died in childbirth. Her child did not survive)

Anna was reared among us and was known by all. She was an industrious and hard working young woman, the pride of her father, whom she helped in doing all farm work in the last few years of her life. She was a member of the Lutheran church in Dorrance and it is said she never missed a service when it was anyway possible to attend.

The funeral was held Sunday afternoon from the church and was attended by a large number of friends and neighbors, coming from far and near to mingle their sorrow with that of her parents, Adam and Anna Galliart, and one brother adn four sisters. Rev. Lind, of Russell, preached a fine sermon and dry eyes were few and far between when the remains were taken to their final rest in the Colony Cemetery.
