Jackson Hill, age 84 and a resident of 9337 Old Alto Highway, Decherd, died at Southern Tennessee Medical Center Sunday, December 19. Mr. Jackson was a retired school teacher and farmer, having taught school for 42 years. He was a native of Franklin County and was a son of A. J. Hill and Ardene Sherrill Hill. He attended college for four years. Mr. Hill was a member of the Oak Grove Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zula Mae Hill of the Alto community; three daughters, Mrs. Victor (Anita) Suddarth of Winchester, Mrs. Jimmy (Ruth) Owen of Hermitage, and Mrs. Bob (Diana) Lannom of Mt. Juliet; one brother, Huston Hill of Decherd; four sisters, Hazel Hayes and Lillian Baker, both of Decherd, Virginia Crownover of Murfreesboro, and Edith Patterson of Providence community; five grandchildren and there great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 21, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Watson-Gamble Funeral Home with Brother Ralph Hart and Brother Allen Little officiating. Interment was in Franklin Memorial Gardens.
