Dr. Burleson died in an airline accident. Until he entered the Virginia College of Medicine in Richmond VA, he had lived in Grand Rapids MI, where he was vice president of the Burleson Sanitarium, founded by his family. He was survived by his wife Elizabeth Taylor Burleson, sons, Willard M. Burleson Jr. and Richard Ashby Burleson, mother, Mrs. John F. Burleson, and a brother John S. Burleson, both of Grand Rapids.
