Allan D. Freeman, "Muzz," 75, of Centre Twp., passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2016 in ManorCare, Laureldale. He was the husband of Mary Jane E. (Loose) Freeman, who died September 12, 2010.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Elem E. and Mary S. (Erwin) Freeman.
He was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School.
Allan was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He worked as a supervisor for Glidden Paints - ICI, Reading, until retiring in October 1999.
Allan was a life member of Riverside Beneficial Association, and a member of Central Fire Company, Laureldale, and Meadowbrook Country Club. He was a librarian for the Marine Corps League, Reading. Allan enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, fishing, riding horses and dancing. He was a member of the Country Western Dancers of Reading.
Allan is survived by one daughter, Tampa, Florida; and two grandsons. He is also survived by four brothers, two sisters and many nieces and nephews.
Allan was predeceased by a son, Hal M. Freeman; one brother, Earl E. Freeman; and five sisters: Eula (Freeman) Yarnall; Helen L. Freeman; Beatrice L. Freeman; Jane E. Freeman; and Betty M. (Freeman) Nagle.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday in the funeral home, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 69, Mohnton, PA 19540.
