Adelina was born to George and Malvina Fidel who immigrated from Lebanon and settled in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
Adelina attended Immaculate Conception Catholic School, Robertson High School and Highlands University. Adelina met her husband, Elfigo in Las Vegas and eventually settled in Bosque Farms, NM with her family.
Adelina retired from the Los Lunas School District after many years of service.
Adelina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Adelina is survived by her husband of 51 years, Elfigo Carabajal, daughter, Katherine Chávez and her husband, Randy, son, James Carabajal and his wife, Elizabeth and daughter, Victoria Trujillo. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Joshua Chávez, Jaron Chávez, Michelle Carabajal, Christian Carabajal, Marianna Carabajal, Josephine Carabajal, Elizabeth Carabajal, Christopher Trujillo and Antonio Trujillo, her brother and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, New Mexico, beginning at 6:30 p.m., with a vigil service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A final viewing will be held at 9:30 a.m., with a funeral mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall. A Committal Service will be held at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at 9:45 a.m. Pallbearers are Randy Chávez, Joshua Chávez, Jaron Chávez, Christian Carabajal, Christopher Trujillo and Antonio Trujillo. Honorary Pallbearers are Leo and Frances Chávez, Toby and Mary Ann Michael and Mildred Garms.
