Charles H. Stiffler, 69, was found dead in bed in his home in Rochester Mills yesterday morning. He had been in ill health for some time and his death was an expectation. A son of Phillip and Rebecca Stiffler, he was born January 27, 1874 at Mosscreek. He formerly resided at Commodore and Lovejoy and had been in his late residence since November, 1935. A veteran of the Spanish American War, he was a member of Joseph Blakely Post, United Spanish War Veterans, Indiana. Mr. Stiffler was a member of the United Presbyterian Church.
On July 3, 1913 he was married to Miss Chrissie Taylor. Surviving are the widow and three children: Corporal Chester Stiffler with the Armed Forces at Camp Forrest, Tennessee; Mrs. Loretta Gray of Punxsutawney and Miss Hazel Marie Stiffler, at home. There are two grandchildren.
Services have been arranged for 2:00 PM Saturday in the Stiffler home. The Reverend Doctor Hugh Given will officiate and interment will be in McDowell Cemetery, near Cookport.
