At age six, she and her family moved to Fayette County, Tennessee. Harriet moved to Texas with her sister and parents in 1839 when Texas was a young Republic. Her father fought in the Battle of the Neches and Delaware in 1839.
Harriet married E. R. Vredenburgh in 1843 when she was just sixteen years old. In 1849, she married Col. Cullin R. Earp who died October 13, 1865. Originally buried in the Earp family cemetery in Upshur County, Texas, Cullin was reburied in Hopewell Cemetery in 2008 in an event organized by the Upshur County Patriots. Harriet married Arnold Milner on December 22, 1881 in Rusk County, Texas. He died in 1883 and is buried with his first wife in Pine Grove Cemetery, Rusk County, Texas. Harriet is buried near her sister, Isetta Elizabeth Dunkley Merritt Wright, in the Wright family cemetery. Harriet had one child who died in infancy from one of her first two marriages.

Gravesite Details
A storm in 2010 broke the stone since this photo was taken. It has been glued back together. A Daughters of the Republic of Texas Medallion was added to her grave in a ceremony on May 7, 2011 on a separate marker.
