Wesley Don Deck, 76, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Ardmore. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2016, in The Chapel at Griffin ~ Hillcrest with Minister Ron Benedict officiating and assisted by Minister Ronnie Colvert. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Wesley was born on March 28, 1940, to Carroll Eugene Deck and Edith Molly (Mahan) Deck at Corpus Christi, Texas. His family moved to Dickson, in 1948 and Wesley later attended and graduated from Lone Grove High School with the Class of 1958.

Wesley served his country in the Army National Guard until 1960 when he received an honorable discharge. He married Miss Barbara A. Holybee on Jan. 11, 1972, in Gainesville, Texas. Wesley and Barbara spent a lot of time together traveling throughout Colorado with Rusty and friends enjoying the beautiful scenery. They enjoyed spending time camping and fishing with Barbara always catching the biggest trout.

He worked for Beetle Plastics of Ardmore for 13 years. He took a position in sales with Agnew Smart Clothing Store in 1982 and then in 1984 he worked for his brother at Deck’s Menswear at Tiffany Plaza in Ardmore. He worked for Charlie’s Used Cars for his brother--in--law for a year. Wesley worked for a short time at Jarvis Pools and he was forced to retire due to injury’s he withstood in an automobile accident in 1983.

Wesley loved building street rods with Charlie. He enjoyed eating breakfast with his coffee group at Prairie Kitchen every Wednesday. He was a big outdoorsman and hunter and would take trips with his brother Carroll all over Colorado to hunt and camp. He enjoyed shopping at Cabela’s with his brother, Carroll, and nephew, Brandon. He will be remembered as a great guy with an incredible sense of humor. Jan Holybee always said “He was a likeable ol’ boy.” Wesley will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Winfred Deck; and brother, Kenneth Deck.

Wesley is survived by his wife, Barbara Deck of the home; sons, Rusty Wayne Deck of Ardmore and Wesley Don Deck Jr., of Port Orchard, Wash.; brother, Carroll Wayne Deck of Ardmore; sister, Dorthy Jean Finley and husband, Ed, of Lone Grove; cousin, Francis McDonald of Houston; and best friend and brother--in--law, Charlie Holybee and wife, Jan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Shane Holybee, Josh Holybee, Buster Holybee, Jarvis Hunt, Gene Deck and Leon Deck. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Deck, Jim Ford, Corky Day and Colby Deck.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. this evening at Griffin-Hillcrest.
