Dave Ailts was born to George (Ike) and Madonna (Morrow) Ailts on April 2, 1951 in Ravina, SD. He died Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at his home in Wagner.

Dave graduated high school in Lake Andes, went to college in Minnesota to pursue avionics and business, but never graduated. He met and married Barbara Giraud and gained two bonus children, Kimberly and Ryan. They eventually went their separate ways. While he was living in Des Moines, IA and working as Director of Catering at the John Q. Hammons Marriott Hotel, he met JoAnne Mills. They moved to Durango, CO to pursue his dream of opening up a pizza place. Dave and JoAnne got married and moved to Cortez, CO where they finally opened a pizza place called Rocky Mountain Pizza and had two children, Spencer and Makayla. He was well known and respected in Cortez and surrounding areas. They divorced, but he stayed in the area to be with his kids. In his retirement years, he moved back to South Dakota to be close to his siblings and nieces and nephews. To fill some of his time there, he worked at a local bar, Doggers, and also volunteered at the bingo hall.

He will be greatly missed.
