Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Crawshaw Funeral Home, with the Revs. Jeff Koch and Jack Knopp officiating. Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery in West
Frankfort. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Berean Christian Church or to the American Cancer Society.
Mrs. Knapp over the years worked at Northern Propane in Murphysboro, Vergennes State Bank, the Bank of Carbondale and University Bank, now First Bank of Carbondale.
She was a member of St. Joseph Hospital Cancer Support Group, active in her church and active in making crafts and sharing them with her family and friends.
She was born March 26, 1944, in Chicago to Louis Kenneth and Esther Alberta (Morefield) Harris.
She married Johnnie Knapp on June 5, 1976, at Carbon Lake in Franklin County. He survives.
Other survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin R. and Kaye Walker of Vienna; one step-daughter and son-in-law, Laura and David Kern of West Frankfort; one
granddaughter, Ashley Kern of West Frankfort; one brother-in-law, Ronnie Wheeler of Murphysboro; one nephew and his wife, Steven and Dana Wheeler of Rockport, Ind.; her father-in-law, Frank Knapp of West Frankfort; her mother-in-law, Ruby Knapp of West Frankfort; five aunts, Colleen McMurphy of Carbondale, Vivian Johnson and Virginia Morefield, both of Herrin, Eunice Ellis of Murphysboro and Rosella Morefield of Alto Pass; and several cousins.
Her parents and one sister, Shelia Wheeler, preceded her in death.
