HENAGAR - Ruby Gerlene Gilbert, 80, passed away Tuesday Dec. 9, 2003, at her residence.
She was a member of Old Shady Grove Baptist Church, and was known for her love for quilting; also she was a great homemaker.
She is survived by a son, Jimmy and Linda Gilbert of Henagar; daughters, Lacretia and Donald Murdock of Henagar, Sandra and Greg Phillips of Chattanooga; brothers, Albert, Howard, Tommy and Melvin Gilbert of Jackson County, Ala.; sisters, Pauline Gorham, Nina Laney, Vida Fox and Wanda King of Jackson County; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gilbert was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ludy Hall Gilbert; husband, J.V. Gilbert; brother, Vernon Gilbert; and a sister, Joyce Varner.
Her service will be today, Dec. 11, at 2 p.m. CST in Kerby Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment in Green Haven Memorial Gardens, with Brothers Greg Phillips, Dennis Hall and Bud Laney officiating.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. until time of service.
