Arlis W. Castleman, 86, of Springfield died at 7:13 p.m. Friday at Menard Convalescent Center in Petersburg.

He was born July 9, 1907, in Smith Spring, Tenn., the son of Thomas A. and Ida Mai Warren Castleman.

He married Mae Max, Catherine Ward and Edith Curtis, and they preceded him in death.

Also preceding him in death were a stepson, a grandson, five sisters and two brothers.

Mr. Castleman was a member of Calvary Temple Church.

Surviving are three sons, Ronald Castleman of Springfield, Norman Castleman of Williamsville and Arlis E. Castleman of Torrence, Calif.; two daughters, Lucille Turner of Springfield and Elsie Stazaka of Norcross, Ga.; stepson, Wayne Micesell of Danville; stepdaughter, Ruth Dixon of Jacksonville; 11 grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. M.J. Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
