Deborah "Debbie" Kay McKeehan, 61, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at her residence.

A native of Sweetwater and resident of McMinn County for the past 33 years, she was a daughter of the late James Alvin Avens, and was also preceded in death by a brother, James Ricky Avens; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mart and Katherine Leona Riden McKeehan.

She was a former employee of Athens Stove Works.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, David M. McKeehan of Athens; one son and daughter-in-law, Marco and Lacey McKeehan of Athens; mother, Addie Kate Cunningham McDougall of Sweetwater; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Bobby McElhaney of Ten Mile; Cindy and Tim Leonard, and Tammy and Kent Buchanan, all of Sweetwater; two grandchildren, Hunter McKeehan and Jocee Madison McKeehan; one brother-in-law and wife, Scott Stevenson and Liz McKeehan of Athens; one sister-in-law and husband, Terri and Ted Monroe of Athens; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family would like to express a very special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their care of Debbie.

Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, April 8, at Pond Hill Cemetery with Pastor Ryan Wicker officiating.

Active pallbearers will be Marco McKeehan, Ted Monroe, Timothy Monroe, Steven Monroe, Shawn Lowe and Adam Wicker.
