LaVonne Woodring was born on Wednesday, September 24, 1930 in Erie, PA. She was the daughter of Boyd Alton Woodring and Ethel Catherine Rudolph. As a young man her father worked on the railroad and in later life was a chipper for Urick Foundry in Erie.
Bonnie married Kenneth Eugene Schauer in Erie on Saturday, May 7, 1949. They were married for 59 years until his passing on Sunday, June 15, 2008 in Lakeside, San Diego, CA. They had two children, Randy and Carole.
After moving to San Diego in 1952 Lavonne worked on aircraft for seventeen years, first at Rohr & Convair in San Diego and for nine years at McDonald-Douglas in Long Beach where she worked on airplanes such as the DC-10, DC-9, and B-52's. She left the work place and settled back in El Cajon in 1970 where she became a homemaker.

She leaves two children: Randy Schauer and his wife Candy of El Cajon, CA, and Carole Pelletiaire and her husband Robert of El Cajon, CA; five grandchildren: Brian and Mike Hill of Oregon; Kelly Schauer and his wife Amy of Oregon; Doug Schauer of El Cajon, CA; and Stephanie Schauer of El Cajon CA: one great grandchild: Jenna Hill of Oregon
A Celebration of Life service was held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in El Cajon.
