She attended Harbor Creek and East High Schools. "Laney" was a devoted homemaker and proud grandmother, who loved spending time caring for her beloved family. She was as extremely avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan; and enjoyed fishing, bowling, playing cards, bingo and visits to the casino. She was a member of the East Erie Moose Lodge.
She was preceded in death by two sisters: Bernadine Smyklo and Barbara Yourkonis; and four brothers: Earl (Junior), Gene, Norman (d 5/21/1999 age 60) and Buddy [Charles] Woodring (d 10/14/2013 age 70 in Akron OH).
Survivors include her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard G. Smith; one daughter, Tambra Smith Stewart (William); four grandchildren; two sisters: Bonnie Schauer and Brenda Brooks; one brother, William Woodring (Connie); and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Interment in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
