Member of the Autauga Rangers Home Guard, Company D of the 4th Alabama Volunteer Militia. Enlisted at Autauga County, AL. Muster roll March 25, 1862. Had six dependents. His family allowed $200 per year. Indigent Family Records M.R.D. List from Aut. Co. transmitted to the State Comp. by G. W. Benson, Jdg. of Probate, Kingston 8/18/62. Enlisted in July 1862 into Oliver's Company of Sharp Shooters. This Company enlisted at Montgomery, AL in Sept. 1862 after organizing and training at Talledega. The Company was assigned to Major Cox's 2nd Battalion Georgia Sharp Shooters as Company E. The Company was transfered out in July of 1863 to form the 9th Alabama Infantry Battalion and served as Company K, and subsequently redesignated as the 58th Alabama Infantry Regiment, Company K.
