Denise was a very active and faithful member of the United Church of Christ and served on the Board of Trustees as their Financial Secretary for 13 years. Throughout the years she enjoyed camping, crocheting, reading, and cooking meals for everyone to enjoy. She was a very well organized, determined and dedicated individual. Nothing could stop her; she could do anything she put her mind to. She took great pride in helping raise her three grandsons Anthony, Jaysun and Dylan Lee after her daughter Kimberlee unexpectedly passed away. Her family meant the world to her, especially all 12 of her grandchildren. Spending time with them always brought her great joy and happiness.
She is survived by her husband Tim Aitkin, Wabasha, MN; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Casey Aitken, Oronoco, MN; daughters and sons-in-law, Lisa and Aaron Springer, Wabasha, MN, Aimee and Bradley Meyer, Murfreesboro, TN; 12 grandchildren: Anthony, Jaysun, and Dylan Lee, Megan, Emalia, Kayla and Robert Springer, Ella and Alyssa Aitken, and Owen, Charlotte, and Flynn Meyer; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Loc Lancaster, Baytown, TX. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kimberlee Aitkin, parents, James Lancaster and Shirley Hoehne, and her parents-in-law, Marlyn and Elaine Aitken.
