Hylton Pioneer Dies; Funeral Pending

Sarah Jane Towry Swindle, a resident of Nolan County many years passed away at 3:30 p.m. January 6 at the family home in Hylton. Mrs. Swindle had been in failing health several years.

She was married to Monroe Swindle on October 16, 1888.

Seven children survive: Emmette M. of Pampa, Mrs. Mattie Kinard Gamble of Abilene, Mrs. Frankie Edmison of Albany, Mrs. Ola Dunnam of Tuscola, Mrs. Willie Brown of Norton, Mrs. Jess Middleton of Anson, and Charlie of Casa Grande, Ariz. Twenty-five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Swindle had been a member of the Missionary Baptist Church since 1908.

Funeral services will be at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Orval A. Hendon officiating. Arrangements are incomplete pending the arrival of son, Charlie, from Pampa.
