She was born on October 25, 1942 in Westfield, Texas (Now Humble) to Arthur and Irene Kies.
She proudly received an associate degree from Sam Houston State University. Her solid education lead to her lengthy career at the Houston Chronicle. Her hobbies were Crocheting and traveling.
She was preceded by her parents Arthur and Irene Kies, and husband Joe Pegoda.
She is survived by her children: Cassy, Craig, Adam and Tommy; brother Everett Kies ; grandchildren Joshua Perio, Ryan Gaddy, Matthew Tennery, Kyle Williams, Marissa Manning, Shalynne Foster, Colton Pegoda, Renee Pegoda, Travis Pegoda and Blake Tennery.
Services are being held at Calvary Hill Funeral Home.
Inerment in Earthman Resthaven Cemetery.
