Ardis V Bronson Drury Rowley, 82, passed away March 24, 2016, at Franklin County Medical Center surrounded by her family. After nearly 50 years of fighting cancer, she is finally pain free.
Ardis was born in Logan, Utah, April 25, 1933, to Virl D. and Vella B. Bronson. She was raised in Lewiston, Utah, and graduated from North Cache High School.
She married her knight in shining armor, Alden James Drury, on June 26, 1951, and was later sealed in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. Together they had three children. He passed away in 1973 from a truck rollover accident.
On October 14, 1995, Ardis married Tom Rowley in the Logan, Utah, L.D.S. Temple and continued to live in Fairview, Idaho.
Ardis was a faithful member of the LDS Church and held many positions including Primary, Relief Society, and was the ward chorister for many years. She was also a proud member of the Saramar Camp of the DUP where she served in the presidency.
Ardis is survived by her husband Tom of Fairview; her son James "J D " ( Sandra ) Drury of Fairview, Idaho; daughter Diane ( H. Lee, deceased ) Lewis of Preston, Idaho; daughter Elizabeth Nesbitt of Corvallis, Oregon; step-son Lynn A ( Shirley ) Nelson of Vaughn, Montana; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by Tom's children Irvin ( Roxie ) Rowley of Mesa, Arizona; Rita ( Glen ) Ramsey of Burley, Idaho; Janice ( Dave ) Skinner of Queen Creek, Arizona; LeAnn ( Doug ) Martineau of Gilbert, Arizona; and Sheila ( Jeff ) Black of North Las Vegas, Nevada.
She was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother Rita Dalton Bronson, her husband Alden, her son Dennis, her sister Margene, her brother Thais "Tracy", her son-in-law Lee Lewis, and many brothers in law and sisters in law.
The family would like to especially thank Dr Stuart Knapp and all the nurses and therapists at Franklin County Medical Center for their love and care, Home Health nurses, Dr. Ali Ben-Jacob and the Cache Valley Cancer Treatment Center, and all her "chemo-buddies".
Funeral sevices will be held Wednesday March 30 at the Fairview 1st Ward church, 165 West 4800 South at 12:00 noon with Bishop Kip Rawlings officiating. Visitation will be at Webb Funeral Home 1005 South 800 East, Preston, Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and again at the church Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery.
