Mrs. Opal Laverne McNair, age 86, of Valley passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her residence.
Mrs. McNair was born on December 29, 1929 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late Lala Pitts Clark and Quintus Park Clark. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Brandi Clifton, and her great-grandchild, Aiden Mote.
Mrs. McNair was a member of Happy Valley Baptist Church. She had worked at Playtex in LaFayette and in the Fairfax Mill towel department. She had also driven the Chambers County Bus for Senior Citizens.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Happy Valley Baptist Church. The Rev. John Samanie and the Rev. Floyd Aikens officiating. Interment will follow in Fairfax Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M.
Mrs. McNair is survived by two daughters, Wynette Tilley, Valley, and Renee Jones, Valley; grandchildren, Crystal (Davis) Smith, Chad (Gaby) Mote; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Gladys (Robert) Bonner, Donalsonville, GA.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to the Happy Valley Baptist Church.
Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley is directing.
