Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Clancy 76, who passed away Monday morning at Lawrence Memorial hospital following a long illness, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Cottonwood Funeral chapel. Rev. Coleman C, Hartzler of Camp Verde officiated.
Following the chapel service, Clarkdale chapter 24, Order of Eastern Star, conducted graveside rites in the Cottonwood cemetery, with T.B. Jones, W.G. Robinson, H.B. Young, Herschel Thompson, S.T. Louttit and J.A. Son serving as pallbearers.
Since last April, Mrs. Clancy had lived with her son, James Clancy, national park service ranger at Montezuma Castle. Previously she made her home with him at Zion, Bryce Canyon and Grand Canyon national parks for several years.
She was born in Coles Co., IL., on March 21, 1874. For some time she lived in Santa Fe, N.M., and was a member of the Santa Fe chapter 19, O.E.S.
Surviving besides her son James is son, Eugene Clancy of Los Angeles and son Lewis Clancy of Las Vegas, NM; a brother, two sisters and five grandchildren.
