OBITUARY
Harriet Julie Brooks Altis was born June 4, 1857 at Redwood, VA. She was married December 24, 1876 to Sam W. Altis. To this union was born eleven children, two having preceded her to the great beyond, one daughter, Mollie, died September 6, 1899 and one son, Ammon died June 15, 1922. She united with the Baptist church. Her life has always been a fitting example for all to follow, always true and ready to do good at every opportunity. She was devoted to her husband, children and home, and a good friend and neighbor to all.
