Birdie Mounts Sweeney,78, of Three Forks near Jolo, WV, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016, at her residence.Birdie was born November 5, 1937, a daughter of the late Edward and Lillie Mounts. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother; she loved attending church at the Beartown Church when she was able to go. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one son, Vestel Darnell Sweeney; two granddaughters, Keegan Gabriele Sweeney and Angel Sweeney; two grandsons, Brandon Lee, and Keith Edward; three sisters, Lexie Zimmerman, Vicie Fultz, and Dora Davidson; and five brothers, Elmer, Chester, Allen, French and Ernest Mounts. Survivors include seven sons, Jerry Sweeney and Kaye Kennedy of Atwell, WV, Danny Sweeney and wife Donna, with whom she made her home; Randall Sweeney and wife Becky of Jolo, WV, David Sweeney of Three Forks, Eugene Sweeney of Bradshaw, WV, Keith Sweeney and wife Michelle of Paynesville, and Kevin Sweney and wife Keisha of Bradshaw, WV; one daughter, Teresa Clark of three Forks, WV; two sisters, Pearl Beavers of North Carolina and Ethel Reegan of Connecticut ; grandchildren, Lil Jerry Sweeney and Beckey of Connecticut; Christina Rhodes of Connecticut, Lil Danny Sweeney of Three Forks, Courtney Milhoan of Three Forks, Braxton Allen of North Carolina, Stephanie and Brittany Sweeney of Three Forks, Randall Sweeney and Arnie Clark of Connecticut, Scarlett and Jeffrey Bryant (My Boy) of Jolo, Emmy Sweeney of Jolo and Amy Sweeney of Connecticut, Garrett Sweeney of Bradshaw, and Chesney and Carter Drake Sweeney of Bradshaw; great grandchildren, Amara Clark and Maddi Sweeney both of Connecticut, Jade Marie Racine of Connecticut, Rena, Mikie, Shammar, and Quincy Rhodes of Connecticut, Devin and Damon Stacy of Three Forks, Hannah Sweeney, and Raelynn Sweeney of Jolo, Dylan Jo of North Carolina and Elijah Sweeney of Connecticut; her niece, Iris Pruitt and William of English who she loved talking to everyday; and her buddy as she called him, that never missed a day calling to check on her, Oral Hagerman. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 1 o'clock with Reverend Pete Woods, Reverend Nancy Blevins, and Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Jesus Church at Bartley, WV. Burial will follow in the Sweeney Cemetery at Buck Eye near Jolo.Serving as pallbearers will be family and friends. Friends may visit with the family Tuesday evening, March 22, 2016 after 6 p.m. at the Jesus Church at Bartley, WV.The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Javed and Staff, Cherie Vance and Staff, Welch Community Hospital, and Stat EMS of Bradshaw.
