Father of Thomas Johnson Jr, Elizabeth (Johnson) Gove, Francis Allen Johnson and Addison Jackson Johnson Thomas Johnson worked as a Sawyer, Spinner, Operative, Wool Funner and a Laborer. He served as a Corporal in the Civil War, Company M 1st Massachusetts, Heavy Artillery.He enlisted as a Private on December 7, 1863 Thomas received a gunshot wound in his left arm in Spottsylvania, Virginia on May 19, 1864. He was promoted to Corporal in March 1865 and discharged June 15, 1865. He died of cystiitis at Massachusetts General Hospital in Ayer,Ma on thursday October 10, 1895. He was buried on saturday October 12, 1895 at the age of 71 years, 9 months, and 10 days old.At the time of his death he was living in Attleboro Mass.
