Peter Bear, one of the most prominent and successful farmers in Eliza township, passed away Friday afternoon at the family residence. He had been ailing with paralysis for the past few years, but his condition was not thought serious until about two months ago. Mr. Bear was 72 years of age and was born in Eliza township and has resided there all his life. He is survived by his wife, three daughters and two sons, Mrs. T. Huston of Shickley, Neb., Mrs. Clyde Crapnell of New Boston and Miss Mae Bear of Eliza, Charles and Omer, also of Eliza. He is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Madrew Bear and Stephen Bear, both of Eliza, Mrs. James Kinnaman of Stewardville, Mo., and Mrs. L. Childs of Hutchinson, Kansas. The funeral services were held Sunday from the Union church in Eliza township, Rev. Mr. Thornton of Keithsburg officiating.
