Mr. Jacks, a native of Madison County, was a retired farmer. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma Jacks; two sons, Tracy Jacks of Leeds and Clay Jacks of Hazel Green; two daughters, Carol Holder of New Market and Brenda Underwood of Fayetteville, Tenn.; a brother, Russell Jacks of Birmingham; three sisters, Kathleen Donahoo and Etta Reid, both of Birmingham, and Jessie Baker of New Market; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
