Abraham fought in the American Revolution as a Private in the 14th Regiment of Albany Co. Militia. He married Jannetje Francisco, a daughter of John and Aeltje (Doremus) Francisco, on 10 February, 1782 at the Town of Pittstown, Upper Albany (now Rensselaer) Co., NY. Their children were: John, Elsje, Jane, Alida, Lavina, Elizabeth, Hassel, Abraham and Henry.

Abraham's new bronze marker, the placement of which was arranged for by Francisco family descendant, Lyn Wilson, was dedicated on September 23rd, 2006. Abraham's flags and wreath were placed, then his marker was unveiled by his 6th great grandson, Kyle Tunison.
