Mr. and Mrs John J.Cadd both descendents of pioneer families, celebrated their golden wedding anniversery Sunday, Oct. 10 ath their home, 2395 Del Rosa Avenue. They held open house from 2 to 6 P.M. and scores of their friends dropped by to pay tribute.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Cadd are natives of California, and Mr. Cadd is a retired Pacific Electric employe, having been a popular motorman for many years during San Bernardino's "Street car" era and later a bus driver fo the Highland Patton line. He is active in Arrowhead parlor, Native Sons of the Golden West, and his wife is affiliated with the Native Daughters.
Their daughters Mrs.Sabina Conrad and Mrs MildredReed and theironly grandchildMrs Harold Williams(Dayle Reed) were hostesses at the open house. They where assisted by Mrs. Cadd's sisters, Mrs. Ethel Paul and Mrs. Edna naphas of montebello: and Mr. Cadd's sister, Mrs. Ellen McGarvey.

JOHN J. CADD TAKEN BY DEATH -- WAS PAST PRESIDENT ARROWHEAD PARLOR
John Joseph Cadd, 2395 Del Rosa Ave., native and lifelong resident of San Bernardino, died Tuesday morning at St. Bernardine's Hospital. He was 76 years old, and the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cadd, pioneer San Bernardino settlers.
For more than 30 years he was a dispatcher for Pacific Electric, and for several years had been retired. He was past president of Arrowhead Parlor 110, Native Sons of the Golden West.
Survivors are his widow, Eliza Benson Cadd; two daughters, Mrs.Sabina Conrad and Mrs. Mildred Matthews, San Bernardino; one granddaughter, Mrs. Harold Williams, San Bernardino; three sisters, Mrs. Rose Beggs, Santa Ana, Mrs. Lucinda Harris and Mrs. Ella McGarvey, San Bernardino.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Stephens & Bobbitt in charge.
