Hampton- Reed Scott Walton, 84 passed away peacefully March 6, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Reed was born Oct. 15, 1931 in Newport News, Va. A respected business man who practiced his skills as an informed numismatist in Hampton, Va. for more than 40 years was well known and admired for dealing fairly and successfully in the realm of numismatics. His knowledge and fair dealings was matched by his professionalism and personal magnetism which attracted many customers over the years as well as friends who knew Reed as an exceptional person with a very generous heart. He will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Scott and Nannie Walton, his brother Gilbert G. Walton, his Sisters Margaret E. McCord, Mildred F. Bowers and Marie Henderson . His survivors include his brother Robert Walton and wife Doris, Arline Silverthorn and husband Bobby, both of Hampton and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday , at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 179 East Mercury Blvd. Hampton, Va., The Rev. Rhonda E. Wheeler officiating. Please join family for reception in parish hall after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Emmanuel Episcopal Church or your favorite charity.
