HAMPTON - Gilbert George Walton, 59, a lifelong Hampton resident, died Thursday, April 29.
He retired in 1990 as a supervisor after 30 years with the Virginia ABC Board. Mr. Walton was a member of the Retired Men's Club and the Hilton Tennis Club. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where he was superintendent of the Sunday school, treasurer of the men's club and member of the administrative board.
Survived by his wife, Virginia B. Walton; a daughter, Patricia W. Juliano of Catskill, N.Y.; a son, Randolph B. Walton of Mobile, Ala.; his mother, Nannie C. Walton of Hampton; four sisters, Margaret McCord, Mildred Bowers, Marie Henderson and Arlene Silverthorn of Hampton; and two brothers, Reed S. Walton and Bobby L. Walton of Hampton.
Visitation from 7 to 8:30 tonight at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Funeral 1 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Nolan R. Crowder. Burial in Parklawn Memorial Park.
