Marie J. (Huizenga) Pelletier 93, formerly of Erie, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis, IL, after a period of illness. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Erie United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 – 11 AM at the Church prior to the service. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Erie United Methodist Church. Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Pelletier was born on June 27, 1922, to Earl and Mary Huizenga. She graduated from Erie High School, then married George E. Pelletier on March 19, 1941, in Muscatine, Iowa.
Marie was employed as Bookkeeper for the Erie school district from 1961 to 1974. Then, she held the position of Bookkeeper and Office Manager for the Riverdale School District from 1974 to 1984, at which time she retired. Marie was also the Fund Raising Chairman and Financial Chairman for the Whiteside County Republican Woman's Club from 1968 to 1972. She was a member of the Erie United Methodist Church. Marie loved cooking, birdwatching, needlework, sewing and above all, family.

Vollmer, of Mustang, OK; her son, Gale Pelletier, of Loami, IL; three grandsons, Aaron Vollmer, Daniel Vollmer, and Grant Pelletier; two great-granddaughters, Brooke Carter and Abby Vollmer and one sister, Edna Sikkema. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and four sisters.
