Mrs Ella Shelton, age 73, of 914 Foster St in Marlin, died 6:05am,
Monday, Sept 20, in a Marlin nursing home. She had been ill for
several years.
Funeral services will be conducted 10am, Wednesday in Adams
Funeral Chapel, with the Rev Loyd Chapman officiating. Burial will
be in Taylor Chapel Cemetery east of Marlin.
Mrs Shelton was born Aug 24, 1898 in Falls County, daughter of the
late R J and Lucy Redden Carpenter. She married Bertie Alexander Shelton
July 31, 1929, in Marlin and the couple had lived in this area all their
married life. Shelton died June 1, 1964.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mrs Lee Carpenter and several nieces
and nephews.
