DURHAM - Joseph Clifton Ellis
DURHAM - Joseph Clifton Ellis, 82, of Durham, died on Thursday, September 18, 2003 at Durham Regional Hospital. Mr. Ellis was born in Durham, NC, the son of the late Bunnie and Ethel Seagroves Ellis.

He was retired from Pritchard Paint and Glass Company.

He was a World War II Veteran and a member of Durham Elks Lodge #158 and Sudan Shrine Temple.

Mr. Ellis is survived by a granddaughter, Dawn Mitchell Pendergraph of Durham; a sister, Kathy E. Strayhorn and husband, James of Durham; two brothers, Claiborne E. Ellis and wife, Shirley of Creedmoor, and Connie L. Ellis and wife, Katie of Williamsburg, VA; and one great granddaughter, Courtney S. Pendergraph. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

There will be a memorial service at the First Wesleyan Church, 1417 Cole Mill Road, Durham on Monday, September 22, 2003 at 2PM with Rev. P. Wes Aitken officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Masonic Home for Children, 600 College Street, Oxford, NC 27565.

The family will be accepting family and friends at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Claiborne Ellis, 1576 Munns Road, Creedmoor on Sunday, September 21, 2003 from 3-5PM.
