Mrs. Emma O. Carr, wife of Thomas K. Carr of 814 North H Street passed away Wednesday, September 17, 1924 at 3:15 o'clock, of cancer of the stomach. Deceased was 68 years, 6 months and 20 days at time of death. Funereal services will be held at the Cheesman Funeral Home Friday, September 19 at 2:00 p.m.. Rev. George E. Purdy will officiate and Mrs. Edward McFadden will sing. Internment will be in Forest cemetery.

Mrs. Emma P. Carr was born Mar. 7, 1861 in Adair County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Henning. She was united in marriage to Thomas K. Carr Sept. 16, 1889, who passed away in 1907. They were the parents of 9 children 3 of whom died in infancy.. the living are 4 daughters: Mrs. Eva R. White, Ethel, MO, Mrs. Lillian Hevlin, Albia, IA, Mrs. Mary Kienan and Mrs. Felicia Thomas of Oskaloosa and 2 sons Albert and Rolla Carr of Oskaloosa. She is survived by 19 grand children and 8 great-grand-children. She was a member of the Christian Church and a member of the Home Department of the Christian Church Sunday School. For several months she has been a sufferer but endured her suffering with patience. Death came and released her from the pangs of pain on Wednesday, Sept 17 at the age of 63 years, 6 months and 10 days. She passed away at the home of her daughter on North H. Street. Funeral services were held Friday afternnon Sept 17, at 2:00 at the Cheesman Funeral Home, Rev. George Purdy officiating. Mrs. Edward McFadden sang. Internment was made in Forest Cemetery
