Robert L. Taylor of Winnfield, LA passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the age of 69. He was a remarkable man, beloved son, brother, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, father-in-law cousin and trusted friend. He was born to the late Bevley and Margaret Taylor on July 19, 1946.

He was married August 10, 1968 to Janis Elaine David and sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 27, 1973.

Bob, as he was most often called, graduated from Winnfield High School. He worked for the United States Post Office and proudly served his country in the National Guard for 18 years. He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His callings included branch president, bishop and high council member in the Monroe, LA stake where he consistently personified the heart of a servant and wisdom of a leader. He prepared and lived his entire life for the day that he would be called back home. He had the utmost love and admiration for his Savior and rejoiced in the knowledge of Jesus Christ's atonement and resurrection. We find peace and comfort knowing that Bob, at this very moment, is in the spirit world, a paradise prepared for such a pure, noble and righteous Christian man.

He had a passion for family history and dedicated many hours to genealogy research. His life was an inspiration to all that knew him. Bob had a contagious sense of humor, loved people and brought rays of sunshine to those he met and was always genuinely happy and humble.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Janis, and their five children which include his oldest son Chad and his wife Amanda and their three children, Samantha, Alyssa and Bradley of Winnfield, LA; his daughter Mindy with her husband Chad and their daughter, Madelynn, of Natchitoches, LA; his daughter Lisa and her husband Bryan and their four kids, Zachary, Amberly, Joshua and Addisyn of Farmington, Utah; his son Brian and his wife Hannah and their two children, Kynnedi and Ava of Saline, LA and his daughter Brittney with her husband Trevor of West Bountiful, UT. His sister Mary Carter and husband Gary of Rayburn Country, TX and his brother Ronnie Taylor and wife Marie of Winnfield.

We deeply love him and will always have his teachings, thoughts, words and his countenance in our hearts forever... Till we meet again.

The family will receive friends at Southern Funeral Home on Friday, March 4, 2016 from 5-8pm and again on Saturday March 5, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints from 10am until the time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with President James Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories in Winnfield, LA under the direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Shawn Phillips, Keith Phillips, Dustin David, Chris Carter, Ken Carter and Kelly Carter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Preisthood Brethren of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
