Lois Alberta Blades, 82, of Verona, Missouri passed away at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Ozark Methodist Manor in Marionville, Missouri. She was born May 8, 1933 in Lawrence County the daughter of the late Guy and Retha (Hicks) Newton. A 1951 graduate of Aurora High School, she married Wayne Blades on September 20, 1952 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. She was the owner/operator of the H & R Block Tax Services in Mount Vernon for 35 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Aurora.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by Wayne, her husband of 63 years, two sons, two daughters, one brother, one sister, one aunt, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service under the direction of the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora will be held on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Aurora with burial to follow at Maple Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Aurora in care of the funeral home.
