It was Helen's wish to have her body donated to science at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Yankton."

Helen and Gordon were parents to seven children. During their married life they lived in Minnesota and Arizona.
