He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Eldred, son of the late Sam and Beatrice Dale Camerer.
He married Melody Woolfolk on April 19, 1964, in Scottville, and she survives.
Also surviving are three daughters, Pamela Allen (Rick Hughes) of Jacksonville, Julie Elliott (Gary) of Scottville, and Lisa Moore (Gary) of Modesto; three sons, Jim Camerer (Marcella) of Waverly, Rodger Camerer (Tammy) of Bath, and Joe Camerer (Becky) of Scottville; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kay Nichols (Bill) of Jacksonville, Phyllis Whitlock of Panama City Beach, Florida, and Linda Tribble of Eldred; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chester Camerer; two sisters, Betty Ritter and Janet Stendeback; and one brother, Robert Camerer.
Charlie was a pipefitter/welder for the natural gas industry for many years and started his own construction business known as West Central Energy in 1970 doing gas maintenance for municipal gas systems throughout Illinois, Missouri and Indiana. Following retirement, he was a welding inspector on the pipeline running thru this area. He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Jacksonville. He enjoyed restoring old cars and also enjoyed flying his Cessna. He also loved playing with his grandchildren and fishing.
Burial will be in Panther Creek Cemetery near Scottville.
