David G. Steinert, 79, of 925 S. Central Ave., died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. in the Chapel of the Lodi Funeral Home.
Mr. Steinert was a native of Russia. He moved to Kansas when he was two years old and in 1901 moved to Shattuck, Okla. He married Hannah Erlich there in 1906.
In 1948, following the death of his wife a year earlier, he came to Lodi. That same year he married Mrs. Rosa Baumbach. He was a member of the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rosa Steinert of Lodi; four children, Albert Steinert, Palmer Steinert, and Mrs. Bertha Lorenz, all of Shattuck, Okla., and Floyd Steinert of Fargo, Okla.
Additional survivors include a brother, George Steinert of Shattuck, Okla.; to sisters, Mrs. Katie Peske, of Lodi and Mrs. Mollie Schmidt of Golden, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Elder Edward Koenig of the Fairmont Seventh-day Adventist Church will officiate at services this morning. Remains will be sent to the Mason Funeral Home in Shattuck, Oklahoma for burial in the Shattuck Cemetery.
