Mrs. Nellie Lucille Pardue Pierce, age 70, of Millers Creek, died Thursday, February 25, 2016 at her home. She was born August 21, 1945 in Wilkes County to Charlie Richard and Esther Mae Marlowe Pardue. Mrs. Pierce was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Doug Pierce, Jr.; brother, Clate Edward Pardue.
Surviving are two grandchildren, Ben Pierce and Kaitlyn Pierce both of Purlear; three sisters, Brenda Swaim and husband Dwight of Boomer, Linda Anderson of Moravian Falls, Joyce Pardue of Wilkesboro; brother, Charles Pardue and wife Judy of Boomer; and daughter-in-law, Leslie Pierce of Purlear.
Funeral service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Millers Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Shannon Critcher officiating. Burial will follow in Arbor Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Millers Creek Baptist Church from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, prior to the service.
