"Regina M. Illies, age 96 of Meire Grove died Sunday, June 13, 2004 at St. Michael's Nursing Home in Sauk Centre.
"Regina Illies was born on November 23, 1907 in Meire Grove, Minnesota to Joseph and Elizabeth (Deters) Meyer. She was united in marriage to Victor C. Illies on September 25, 1934 in Meire Grove.
"The couple farmed near Sauk Centre for seven years and then moved to a farm near Meire Grove. They retired in 1968 and moved into Meire Grove. Regina enjoyed baking bread, quilting and playing cards.
"She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Meire Grove, St. Mary's Society, Poor Soul's Society, Holy Rosary Society and St. John's Catholic Aid.
"Survivors include her children, Kathleen Meyer of Spring Hill, Jeanette Fuchs and her husband, George of Paynesville, Marie Pung and her husband, Mike of Cold Spring, Dennis Illies and his wife, Kathy of Meire Grove and Joseph Illies of St. Francis; 18 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren; brother and sisters, Francis Meyer and his wife, Loretta of Meire Grove, Evelyn Illies of Elrosa, Pauline Imdieke of Meire Grove and Olivia Schmiesing of Sauk Centre.
"Regina was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Meyer; husband, Victor Illies on March 18, 1993; son, Harold Illies; two grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Henry Meyer, Bernard Meyer, Catherine Korf, Adella Welle, Hilda Meyer and Erma Welle."
