-m-4-24-1903 1st - Luther Pierson. From this union (which later ended in divorce), seven children were born - five sons & two daughters. Besides those linked an infant son -b-d-10-2-1904, daughter, Ethel May -b-9-6-1905 -d-9-1-1909, & son, Clemont -b-6-30-1923 -d-1-6-1924. All Owsley Co, Ky but found no burial places. MRS LAURA STRONG DIES AT 83 YEARS; RITES SET MONDAY.
Mrs Laura Strong, 83, Bonacker Ave, died at 10 pm, Thursday in Mercy Hospital where she had been a patient since Tuesday. Mrs Strong had suffered a heart condition for several years, but her sudden death was a shock to both family & friends. She was born in Little Rock Ark, Aug 2, 1887 & was married to Luther Pierson in 1903. Two daughters & five sons were born to this union. He died in 1953. She later married Charles Green Strong in Dayton & he preceded her in death Aug 17, 1953. Mrs Strong was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, television, flowers, & gardening. Mrs Strong enjoyed the companionship of her children & grandchildren & will be sadly missed by all.
She leaves one daughter, Mrs M H (Fannie) Wilson, Hamilton; three sons, Ferris Pierson, Milford, Kenneth & Charles Pierson, both of Hamilton; two step-daughters, Mrs Vernon (Stella) McDaniel & Mrs Herman (Margaret) Sparks; one step-son, Kay Strong, Hamilton; two sisters, Mrs Fannie Hooper & Mrs Myrtle Osburn, both of Chattanooga, Tn; 24 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; other relatives & many friends. She was preceded in death by two husbands; her parents; & one brother, Corbett Evans.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 pm in the Primitive Baptist Church, Buckeye St, with the Rev James Warren in charge. Visitation will be Sunday at the Webb Funeral Home, Hamilton, from 4-8 pm. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
