W. A. Musgraves

Funeral services for W.A. Musgraves were held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Al Furr, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Rush Springs, officiating. Assisting was Rev. Walter Welch, pastor of the Waurika Baptist Church.

Burial, under direction of Worley Funeral Home, was in Addington Cemetery. Bearers were his grandsons.

Mr. Musgraves was born Aug. 10, 1879 in Salem, Mo, In 1900, he and Rebecca Blaine were married at Bonham, Texas. The couple moved to Ryan in 1910 and two years later moved to the Claypool community and lived there until Mr. Musgraves' retirement in 1945. His wife preceded him in death. He later married Mrs. Tenna Martindale Feb. 5, 1961.

Mr. Musgraves was a Jefferson county resident for 59 years.

Surviving are his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Murrel Watkins and Mrs. Bennie Adkins, both of Waurika; two sons, Ernest of Graham, Texas, and Bill of Borger, Texas; seven step-children; 23 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

His 1st wife was Rebecca Melvina Armstrong (widow of George Blaine). Daughter of William T. & Jane Armstrong. They married 3 Oct. 1900 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. She was shown as Becky Blaine on their marriage record.

Mrs. Murrel Watkins was his daughter Jewell Musgraves who married Murrel Garsey Watkins.

Mrs. Bennie Adkins was his daughter Julia Idell Musgraves who married Ben S. Adkins.

Grayson Township, is a rural areas joining the city of Waurika on the east. It includes the communities of Glenwood and Claypool.

Price Township, Rural area, the town of Addington, is listed in the north central area of Jefferson County.
