John Cagney and Elizabeth Sullivan were married on September 13, 1857 at Holy Family Church by J.M.C. Beshor, SJ. Witnesses were Patrick Carroll and Ellen Shannon.

CAGNEY--Eliza Cagney (nee Sullivan), wife of the late John Cagney and mother of James, John, Will, Lizzie, Lauretta, and Mrs. H.L. Cavanaugh, and Mrs. F.C. Duncanson of California, and of the late Al Cagney. Funeral on Friday at 9 a.m. from her late residence 100 Sholto-st., to Jesuit Church, where solemn high mass will be celebrated, then by carriages to Calvary. Member Catholic Knights and Ladies of America.
