He was born in Monticello, Kentucky on April 3, 1928, son of the late Raymond and Queenie Beaty Adkins. He retired from Chrysler and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Adkins, five children, Fred & (Sandy) Adkins, Randall & (Cookie) Adkins, Sherman & (Jeanie) Adkins, Martha Adkins and Cathy & (Bill) Dishman, eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held at a later date.
