Mrs. Fred Cahill Dies Sunday Eve after Operation. Ord Woman Active in Club and Church Circles Is Interred Tuesday.
Sad and shocking was the death Sunday evening, June 4, of Mrs. Fred Cahill, quiet beloved Ord mother and wife.
She had been in progressively bad health for many years, undergoing a minor operation some months ago. Wednesday she was again operated on, but her condition grew steadily worse and from Friday no hope at all could be given for her recovery.
Her husband is owner of Table Supply grocery store in Ord....Mrs. Cahill was born in Dayton, Wash, the daughter of pioneer settlers, George and Arminta Crossler on May 10, 1893....her mother died when she was five, and her father died when she was young....She was educated in that town.
Grace Crosseler became the bride of Fred Cahill in Dayton, Wash, on Nov.15 1914. To this union were born two sons, Fred Jr, who is now with the armed forces of the United Sates in the south Pacific area somewhere, and Hugh Edward who is a young highschool student....From the time this family moved to Ord a few years ago Mrs Cahill was an active worker in the Presbyterian church. She had seved as president of the Ladies League, and at he time of her death was chairman of the Dorcas circle, and a member of the church board. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Lodge, of So and Sew club and the P.E.O. organization.
P.E.O. members attended the last rites in a body, and took charge of the services at the cemetery.
