Harold Hamby, 80, of Blytheville, formerly of Caruthersville, died Nov. 8, 1987 at Mississippi County Hospital in Blytheville. He was born in Campbell and had lived in Blytheville the past 30 years. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a former scoutmaster and had received the Silver Beaver award.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Alma Hamby of Blytheville; One son, Frank J. Hamby of Omaha; One daughter, Mrs. Patricia Sue Jansen of Memphis; Three brothers, Joe L. Hamby of Mountain Home, Ark., Bill Hamby of Kennett and Jess Hamby of San Antonio; Twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, James H. Hamby, who died last November.
Services were Nov. 10 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Rev. Conan Mawhorr officiating, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Cobb Funeral Home of Blytheville in charge.
