CLEAR LAKE - Pauline G. Tarr, 83, of Clear Lake, died Thursday (May 13, 1999) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with the Rev. Kermit Roisen officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Ward-Van Slyke Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and will continue one hour prior to services on Monday at the church.
Pauline G. Tarr was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Joice, daughter of Axel and Emma (Jacobson) Aasland.
Pauline grew up in Joice and attended school in Joice and Mason City. She married Emmlet Harmon and lived in the rural Joice and Lake Mills area. She then married Clarence Cline and lived in the Clear Lake area. In 1959, she married Robert Tarr and they lived in Clear Lake.
Pauline enjoyed bowling, reading, playing cards and visiting with her family and friends. She enjoyed attending her sons' sporting events.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake.
Survivors include nine children, Greg Tarr and his wife, LuAnn, of Gladstone, Mo., Pat Cline of Des Moines, Donald Harmon and his wife, Durene, of Surprise, Ariz., Richard Harmon and his wife, LaVonne, of Forest City, David Harmon Iverson and his wife, Rowena, of Woodstock, Ga., Dean Harmon and his wife, Trudy, of Blue Earth, Minn., Duaine Harmon and his wife, Ellen, of Lake Mills, Darrell Harmon of Phoenix, Ariz., and Dorene Helin and her husband, Jerry, of Austin, Minn.; one brother, Robert Ellingson and his wife, Deanna, of Los Angeles; 20 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; two brothers, Burton Aasland and Ancel Aasland; and one sister, Myrtle Snyder.
