Sam Yates of Paris, Rt. 5, just west of town, after a short illness, died at his home, Monday morning at 2:10 o'clock.
He was 71 years old, and had been a carpenter many years.
The funeral service was set for 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon at Manton-Fry Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. W. R. Howell, Baptist pastor at Atlas, Wildey Lodge, No. 21, I.O.O.F., having charge of the commitment service and its members serving as pallbearers.
His wife, Mrs. Minnie Yates, and a daughter, Mrs. Ed Gillespie, of Paris, survive.
